Q: How long can I expect my sand wedge beach seat to last?

A: We use only quality materials for our product and we have a lot of clients who have, like me, used their Sand wedges as a beach seat consistently for the past two summers and tell us that they are still like new. We believe with due care you should get plenty of time with your Sand wedge. But like everything we buy not much lasts forever.

Q: My Sand wedge bean bag isn’t as full as it used to be. How can I fix this?

A: Easily. All beanbags get a bit saggy after time. The actual beans start to compress and flatten with a lot of use. So it is either time to top up your Sand wedge beach seat, which is what I do, or you may choose to discard the old beans and fill it with new ones, totally up to you. So what you need are the beans, which you can get from most department stores either a small top up bag or one large bag if you are going to replace all the beans. You will also need a paper clip or safety pin. You have to release the safety lock on the zip carriage, which you do by pushing the safety pin or paper clip through the small hole on the zip carriage and then open the bag, making sure the beans are away from the opening. Simply pour in the beans close the zip and remember it is very important to REMOVE THE PAPER CLIP when you are happy with the amount of fill in your bag.

Q: How many beans does it take to fill a Sand wedge bean bag?

A: It takes about 2/3 of one large bag of beans to fill an empty sand wedge bean bag. We recommend that you do not over fill the bag for the best result. Once you have put in the beans, up end your filled Sand wedge, meaning hold it by the two corners next to the elastic loops, letting the beans fall into the fat end. Then drop the corners and gently flatten the top, the beans should sit about 5 cm above the buttons on each side of the bag. Also I have heard it suggested that to fill bean bags in a empty bath can help to contain any fly away beans if you have a problem filling bean bags.

Q: I’m not sure how to pack my towel?

A: The easiest way to pack your towel and magazine (or a compact sleeping bag, picnic rug or even a small bag of clothes just in case you haven’t thought of all those other places you can take your sand wedge yet.) Is by up ending your sand wedge beach seat and hold it by the corners next to the two elastic loops. Drop the corners so they fall towards you, Lay your towel and magazine down, and then pick up the corners, fold over the top of your gear and secure with the elastic loops on to the buttons. Please note that the sand wedge is only designed to carry light articles in this pouch, not heavy gear/ utensils, as this will place too much pressure on the elastic loops and could cause damaged.

Q: Is the Sand wedge bean bag waterproof?

A: No it is not made with actual waterproof fabric, as we believe this would make the bag quite sweaty to lie on. But it is made with thick micro fibre, which has a quick dry effect. The polystyrene beans are water resistant and if the bag was totally submerged in water it will be fine as long as you hang the bag out and give it plenty of time to dry completely. We take our bags sailing and if they get soaked with salt water on a rough day. I simply hose them off hang them on the line, beans and all and leave them till the next day and they are totally dry.

Q: Can I fill my sand wedge beach seat with sand instead of beans?

A: NO!!!. The Sand wedge is a beanbag cover and definitely not designed to be filled with sand. I must say I do wonder why one would want to. If you are happy to lie on the hard sand then there is no need for a sand wedge. Personally I find this very uncomfortable and way too firm. The sand wedge as a bean bag will mould comfortably to your shape giving you the prefect beach seat every time. You just simply can’t compare the comfort you get from a sand wedge beanbag to that of a pile of sand.
